The cabbie chuckled. "I know." He said before driving off into the night. Thank goodness that the train station was a 24 hour station. "Something like that." Gabe said with a smirk. He was only thirty one, after all. He eyed the daily project. He knew that Damien Waters did want her. And he wanted her in revenge for what her father did to him.
Gabe looked over to see her when she gave him an anxious expression. He raised a brow slightly. His eyes narrowed. "What did he do?" He asked, sternly. He hated being stern. But he would do so to get his answer. He blinked. Well, Gabe knew that. "Well,." He said surpised. "Its more of the fact that his followers are wizards that will do his every bidding are the ones that we need to look out for." Gabe added, placing a comforting hand on her slim shoulder.
"I will die for you." He added, before watching her kiss his cheek gently. She was so tiny, it was a bit hard for her to do so. He was nearly six feet tall as it was. He looked at her and smiled back. Finally. A real smile on her face. Something that Gabe would like to see more often.
Gabe chuckled as they walked over to the terminal. "Train departure: 3:28am." Gabe looked at his watch. 3:15am, it read. He chuckled. "Well, we get to relax for a bit, and then we'll be on the train to France. It's a long ride, about three hours, so we'll get in at 6ish, get something to eat on the train here or in Paris, and spend two days here laying low." Gabe said with a nod.
"Eurostar train to Paris. Boarding now."
Gabe heard over the crackling over the intercom. Gabe looked over at her with a smirk, as his eyes turned back to a green shade, his hair back to a lighter brown, an indication for her to change her hair color as well. "Let's go darling." He said with a smirk.

She was glad his question changed to a statement quick enough that she really didn't need to answer what Damien Waters had tried to do to her. The fact that he had tried to woo her and then ... been angry with her turning him down wouldn't help Gabe hide her. As she changed her hair color and eye color she brought her and up and took his. "Of course dear" she said contentedly. As they walked along Robin brought a hand up and touched her right eyebrow. She had a scar there, covered well with makeup. Waters was a cruel man after all ... but at least the bar tender had been there. She sighed as they got onto the train.
They got onto the train and into their compartment and Robin took her hand back from Gabe. She sat down in one of the benches and put her head in her hands. Robin took a few deep breaths and then looked back at Gabe. "So ... we've got some serious bonding time on our hands ... or did you want to pretend to sleep the whole time like the others?" she asked as she tried to smile again but failed. She was too consumed in her thoughts to bring a smile to her face. She shook her head slightly and ran a hand through her newly darkened hair.
"I was wondering," she said gently as she looked up at him, "if you turned me down earlier because you are involved with someone or just because you don't like me" she said gently as she looked at him. She hadn't actually intended on asking him such a personal question but her mind had been so spinning that she needed something to distract her. The prospect of his possible answers did not please her much either though. He could either tell her he was involved with someone else, that thought made her heart sink ever so slightly though she didn't know why, or he could tell her he didn't like her.
She had been called names many times before. Stupid, childish, ugly. She had thrown all of them away quickly. None of the people saying those things to her had ever mattered. Some how Gabe mattered. She had no idea why, possibly because this was the longest she had ever spent with any one person. Maybe because she was secretly beginning to fancy him ever so slightly. She quickly shook that thought from her head and kept looking at him.
"Because if your involved I need to apologize ... I'm no home-wrecker" she said quickly, trying hard to clarify what she had said so she didn't seem too terribly silly. She flipped her hair back and looked into his eyes again. They were really rather cold, he didn't seem to be expressing anything to her. Then again she was never very good at reading signs on people. Generally Robin was the type to have to be told point blank what a person intentions were lest she not catch onto them.

Gabe was happy that she was loosening up, and actually showing some emotions around him. Good. He wanted her to become comfortable with him. IF she wasn't and tried to run away again, that wouldn't be good either. He chuckled as he ran his fingers through her mid-back brown hair as they walked onto the train and got into a nice compartment, for the two of them, with other people filling in the other compartments around them.
He sighed softly, before looking over at her. He chuckled when she said, "Serious bonding time.". Of course, Gabe sees humor in everything. Not at everytime, but in everything. He looked over at her with a smirk. "Well, considering I got a few hours of sleep, and you did not, it would be best if you did get some sleep. Unless you wanted to sleep a bit when we're at the hotel in Paris." Gabe added with a slight shrug.
He flopped onto his side of the compartment and leaned against the wall, his arms folded infront of his chest, still wearing his leather jacket and shirt from earlier. "I turned you down for neither of those things. I'm a bodyguard. There's a rule for me to not get emotionally involved with a client. It makes it harder for me to work as a bodyguard." Gabe said gently, his eyes looking out the window. "Also, the last time I've been invovled with someone was in Hogwarts, and college. That was it." He said with a chuckle.
"You can ask me all the questions you want. I'm an open book." He said with a smirk, looking over at her, as the train started to move, and he realized that he was sitting backwards to where the train was headed. Soon, they will be in a tunnel, underneath the English Channel. And then the lights will go off in compartments, considering it was such an early time travel, most people will want to sleep, but if they don't, they can turn the light on with a flick of a light switch.
But the light wasn't off yet. And yes, she may be childish, but not stupid or ugly. He chuckled when she said so after asking if she was involved or not. He shrugged and looked out of the window again, before looking over at her. He raised an eyebrow, wondering slightly what she was thinking, considering she was the one looking into his eyes after all.

Robin crinkled her nose slightly and laughed a little as he said he was an open book. No, she couldn't read him like she read all of her books at home. He wasn't as open as he made himself seem. Or maybe he was and she was just asking the wrong questions. "Sleeping with someone has nothing to do with emotions" Robin laughed out as she looked at him. She'd been with lots of people and never felt anything for them other than possibly a release. She smiled a tiny bit and then bit her lip. She didn't want to sleep, she couldn't do that on a train. Not to mention her pills were well hidden away.
"When you're on a job," she said gently as she looked back at him again, "do you actually feel concern for your clients or are you just doing a job?" she asked as she looked at him with a slight laughter in her eyes. She never really talked with people and wasn't too sure what to say. None of her nannies ever spoke english and her father rarely had a moments time for her, her mother even less. She looked back at him with a slight smile. She was beginning to feel comfortable with him. That concerned her slightly.
She knew as soon as his job was done he would be gone. She shook her head at the thought and then bit her lip again. Of course that's just the way things worked. Everyone left her eventually and she just had to learn to enjoy the time she had with people. She sighed slightly and then looked at him with more serious eyes. "You're going to leave me hanging as soon as your done you job." It wasn't a question but a simple statement. She knew that that was the truth and there was no denying it. She just shrugged her shoulders and lost her slight smile instantly. It was the way of life and she had to accept it.
Robin flipped her hair back again, composed herself with her usual controlled expression and looked out the window. Not that there was much to see. She shook her head and squirmed in her seat. She looked back over at Gabe and frowned a little bit. She sighed and then gave him a rather false smile. "It's all good right" she said with a cynical laugh as she looked at him with a blank expression.

He watched when she laughed a bit. He chuckled as he watched her. He didn't know what she was laughing at, but he'll just chuckle along as well. He looked over at her and shrugged. "Yes and no. But sometimes, it can hurt the other person more if they start to have more feelings than just a simple release." Gabe said with a shrug. He remembered a few times when he had one night stands, and they made it clear that it was a one night stand because he couldn't possibly have a girlfriend if he's doing this job, and had to dump them..again.
He looked over at her when she asked that. He smirked. "I do feel concern for my clients. Thats why I'm still friends with them. Especially Alexander Hamilton." He added, naming a designer that was needed for a bodyguard, who is a wizarding designer. "I'm still invited for family events, and given presents as thank you for protecting me." He said with a chuckle. "I care for all of my clients." He said with a nod.
He looked over at her, before laying down on the bench. He sighed softly before closing his eyes. "Who knows?" Gabe said mysteriously. "I'm not going to leave you without another word. I will be checking in with you and your family, more often than not. You'll be sick of me after I check in with you and your family a lot." He said with a smirk.
He looked over at her, seeing her dark hair flick back behind her shoulder. He narrowed his eyes as he looked over at her. He folding his arms behind his head as he looked up at the ceiling. "What do you mean, "it's all good right?" Gabe asked as he looked over at her.

Robin listened as he spoke and sighed lightly, though she was slightly impressed by his connections that made no difference to her ... well not much. He'd check in with her father not her. She watched as he lay down and put his arms behind his head. "It's all good ... " she said gently as she looked out the window again, "someone is going to have to go home happy ... it's not me but you'll go home a bit happier, the people when they leave they're always happier then when they say" she smiled lightly at him as she looked out the window again. He didn't need to know this much about her. He didn't need to know anything about her and he likely didn't want to. She bit her lip again and then winced when she realized that she had just drawn blood. She touched her lip with her finger and rolled her eyes at herself.
For a moment Robin considered the whole situation. Why was she so nervous. Robin was notoriously unemotional and she really hated the feelings that Gabe was stirring about in her. She'd not be accused of having father issues again. She took a breath and then smiled lightly. Ahah ... a good way to get him to go away, tell him how you're really feeling and he'll not be able to stand being around you any longer she thought. He'll find it too unprofessional or something.
"I have begun to like you Gabe" she said simply as she looked up at him and blinked a few times, "I don't really ever like people and I like you." She said simply as she tilted her head to one side. "It is curious," she continued, "and I think there is something a touch more than lust here ... though that certainly seems to be present. I fear that staying in the same room as you shall become agonizing" she said simply as she crossed her arms under her chest. She immediately hoped that he'd think her just trying to scare him off again. It's not true it's not true she thought desperately as she tried to convey the message to him
"It's likely all physical though yeah?" she added in as she eyed him and sat up extremely straight. She was tense again and she had done that to herself. She bit her hurt lip and winced once again as a drop of blood made it's way out of her lip. She quickly wiped it away and internally cursed herself. How could she be so stupid and silly. This was not Robin. This was some spirit taking over her. Robin did not cry, Robin had no emotions. She could feel the blood rising in her cheeks and the embarrassment kicking in.
"Never mind" she muttered lightly as she turned back to the window and tried to ignore everything she had just said, hoping that he would not bother to even think about it for a moment more.
(ps that picture of Gabe is driving me slightly mad XD XP)

He chuckled. "Only you would say that." He said with a shrug as he looked over at her. He wasn't at all happy when he leaves. Well, he is happy to some degree, but then he misses the adventure, the spending time with his client. He is half-happy and half-sad with his departure. He also thought that at one time, he may just retire, settle down, and start to have a family. But he knew that was unlikely. Who would want a man who was on the move all of the time? Who had very little experience with relationships?
He looked over at her, seeing her bit her lip. He conjured a tissue out and handed over to her wordlessly. He wondered what else she would say or do next. This woman was unpredictable to say the least. He blinked when she said that she liked him. Ah.
So she's going to play that card. He looked over at her. "Maybe there is. Maybe there isn't." He said mysteriously. "Well you shouldn't think that its agonizing. But its for your safety that we have to be in the same room together." He added, looking over at her again. He wondered if she was trying to get him to leave her again. Or scare him off again. Didn't she know by now that nothing scares him off? Especially not her.
"Well for the girls, no. For me, yes. We agreed on something physical. and then they get hurt down the line. I hate doing that." He said softly. He did hate letting down people. But then again, a few times, it was the girl who wanted nothing but just a one night stand, then they come back and then want more when they agreed. He sat up slightly, and got up and stepped onto her side of hte compartment, and sat down next to her. He wrapped an arm around her, pulling her to him.

Robin listened to him speak and shrugged her shoulders a little bit. She knew the deal with people wanting more commitment then she wanted to give. Many of the men she was with would hit her when she said no to being with them again, not that she was totally helpless, they always got what they deserved. That didn't hide the fact though, that she had several silver scars on her face and arms that she always kept hidden with very well applied make-up. She shrugged at him again, in a knowing way and then nearly gasped as he came and sat next to her.
He had seemed so distant and now she was held close to him. She could feel his warm body next to hers and she could feel her own heart beating rapidly. She looked up at him with curious eyes and a slight smirk. Was he playing games with her or had she just managed to make things more complicated. She hoped for neither and expected nothing as she turned her face ever so slightly away from him. She'd not had a chance to do her make-up in over a day and she knew even her best efforts were not enough to completely hide the little raised silver lines in such close proximity.
She could remember each one in detail. The most showy one on her eyebrow from Waters' ring. One on her left cheek from a slight nick from a bottle. Several from spells. She took a deep breath and turned her eyes to him again, hoping that he would look in her eyes and nothing else. She held her breath as she watched him. Her own rose perfume was making her feel slightly sick and it was mixing with his scent, making her senses go wild.
She took a few deep breaths and then spoke. "Are you doing this to comfort me or to seduce me?" she asked with a slight chuckle. She couldn't help but thinking about what his lips would feel like. She was scared and excited and completely hopeless all in one massive moment. She smiled at him with laughter in her eyes and ready to burst out at any moment. She was completely ready for him to have her though she would never admit that. That would make walking away so much easier for him and so much more pleasant for her.

He wanted to be with a girl, And be the only man for her. But then again, he didn't know when was his last job. Or when he will "retire" from his job as a bodyguard. He wanted to know when the "one" will come. Maybe never. He sighed softly as he sat down next to her. He looked at her when she asked if she was here to comfort her or to seduce her. He chuckled. "How about comfort you?" He asked, watching her closely.
Sure, he was drawn to her. To her stubbornness, to her cleverness, to her way to be like a chameleon, from going from immaturity to becoming so seductive at the same time. It was fluid. He liked that she had a fire within her, even though the fire was usually directed towards him. he noticed the silver scars that adorned her eyebrow, her cheek, and her arms.
Well, at least he wasn't alone in scars. He knew that she could see a gunshot scar on the left side on his neck, behind his ear, and another one on his left forearm, a bit darker than the rest. "I'll tell you my scar stories if you tell me yours." He said with a smirk, as he looked down at her.
She may have had made things more complicated. He knew so well that she would play with his feelings like many other women. He wanted a woman who wanted him, and only him. To love him and love his emotions.
"Are you ready to see Paris and to go shopping?" He asked with a smirk. "And start practicing your french accent." Gabe added, even though there was two hours left on this ride to Paris. They were already underwater, seeing the tunnel lights outside the window. He blinked and looked up when they realized that the light flickered off. It always flickered off to let the passengers on the train to go to sleep.

She thought about her scars when he mentioned them and shuddered ever so slightly. Then he asked her if she were ready to go shopping in Paris and Robin just gritted her teeth. Then the lights started flickering out and Robin nearly jumped right into Gabe's lap she was holding him so tight. "I-I've no need to shop, I've got what I need. As as for ... as for my scars ... some men don't take no for an answer" she said simply as she held on tight to Gabe and shut her eyes, her breath rather rapid.
"I'm not ... a fan of the dark," she said gently as her eyes went wild when the lights went out completely, "I can't tell whose around me and it makes me nervous" she said as she shivered lightly into his arms. She felt weak again but at least this time she had someone to hold her. She never thought of herself as needing help, of needing anyone but in that moment she felt like if Gabe let go of her she'd just crumble into nothing.
"Gabe," she said lightly into the darkness as she leaned close so she could just see the outline of his face, "will stay here and talk with me please?" she sounded soft and gentle. She sounded needy and she hated it. "I-I mean if you ... if you want to ... go to the other bench I can ..." she trailed of and felt a tear burning down her cheek again. For the hundredth time she cursed herself internally. She was no longer acting. She was serious and she needed someone. She Robin Branbridge needed another human being.
Robin leaned into him and put her face on his chest. "I-I'm s-sorry f-for being so s-stupid and w-weak right now" she said gently as she leaned on him and lifted her feet onto the bench so she could lay down a bit. She was genuinely scared and she didn't know what to do. She was never scared and she didn't like it. She was clinging to a man ... a man like the ones who had hit her. A man like the ones who had left her. She shuddered lightly and tried to get her control back.
"I ..." she couldn't ask him ... but she felt she needed to, "you wouldn't hit me right? No matter how much I ... annoy you?" she said gently. The others had seemed so nice until they had started ... she shuddered again and took one of her hands off of him, wiping away the tears on her face.

He watched as she jumped onto his lap and held him tight. "Don't you want to tell me?" He frowned, not liking that she was skirting the subject. He blinked as she closed her eyes and held onto him. "I know the feeling." Gabe said softly, rubbing her back with one, and holding her with his other hand.
He blinked when she asked for him to talk to her. "Of course, I will. But if you want, I can turn the light on. It's an automatic thing with these trains to turn off in all of the compartments, but you have to manually turn it on if you want some lights." Gabe expalined, as he held her. "Unless you want me to hold you for a while, I can do that too." Gabe added, mentally kicking himself for suggesting about the lights. Because then she wouldn't want to be near him after that.
He blinked as she told him that she was sorry. He ran his fingers through her hair gently, as he felt her face onto his chest. He sighed softly. "You're not stupid, or weak. Sure, I may get annoyed with you, but I know you don't want me here. But I will keep you safe." He said softly.
He blinked down at her, surprised. The look on his face showed it all. "I would never hit you, no matter how much I may get annoyed with you. I will never hit you." He said sternly as he looked down at her.

She was crying like mad. She was crying because he was being so nice. Because he was holding her and not letting go. Because form once she felt really happy. "I like it when you hold me" she said through her tears as she nuzzled into him and sniffled a little bit. She felt a bit like a child. Like a little girl holding onto anyone who would have her. Finally the tears stopped flowing and she could speak again. She didn't want him to get up and for once in her life she didn't want the lights to come back on. "I feel safe with you" she said as she pulled her head off his chest so she could look at him in the dark.
Slowly her lips touched his. It was soft and tender and she hadn't meant to do it. She felt his lips and tasted the slightest hint of cigarette smoke lingering there. She didn't mind and in any other situation she would have intensified the kiss, taken full advantage of the surprise she would have caused but instead Robin pulled back. "I'm sorry" she found herself saying again as she looked at Gabe with tears still lingering at the edges of her eyes.
"I want ... I want you Gabe," she said slowly, "but I can't just have you for one night" she said gently as she licked her lips and shook her head. She didn't want to elaborate. She didn't want to tell him she was feeling a massive ripping pain in her chest. She didn't want to say that she thought she was falling hard at him. She shook her head and frowned lightly. "I know you don't want that" she said gently as she watched him with tears in the edges of her eyes still.
"Don't feel obliged," she said more firmly, "because of the tears or anything ... I just" she held her breath for a moment and then let it out. She sighed but did not move off of him. She brought her lips down onto his again, this time much more passionately. She deepend the kiss slightly and then pulled away. She was confused by her own actions but she couldn't help but do what she was doing. In that moment she wanted him so badly, and she was just waiting for him to throw her off of him and deny her. He would do it. He would throw her away and tell her firmly how he didn't want anything like that, she was sure of it.

Gabe smiled when she told him that she liked it that he was holding her. He chuckled. "Well good." He said softly, as he held her tightly. Maybe, just maybe. If he gave in, what would happen next? He didn't know. What if she seduced him and then told her father and then he got fired? Gabe wasn't sure. He didn't know what to do. He was so torn. He wanted to protect her as a bodyguard, but a tiny part of him wanted to protect her like a lover. "You should." He said softly.
He blinked when he felt her lips softly touch his. Woah. Wait. She didn't...She did, didn't she? She kissed him. He blinked when she said that she was sorry. "Don't be." He immediately said afterwards. Well hell. Gabe now even more in a predicament. And yet he only knew her for almost two days. That was it. How could it happen that quickly.
"Do you want me physically or emotionally?" Gabe asked, watching her. But he got no response. He wondered what she was thinking. "I'm not a mind reader. You have to tell me what's on your mind." Gabe added, looking down at her, the small figure in his lap, that he was holding onto to make sure she didn't fall from his lap and onto the floor below.
"I do want it. But Not Sex. I want a real relationship." Gabe said sternly, though trying to tell her his ideas. He doesn't want her to use him for sex. That wouldn't be right at all. He knew that William Vanhelm had those rules about falling in love with the clients and how he shouldn't fall in love with the client. But rules are made to be broken, right? Gabe was by far the only one who knew how far rules can bend until they break.
He watched her. He blinked when she kissed him again, more deeper than the first time. He blinked in surprise. Merlin, she did actually want him. But he still didn't know if she wanted him physically or emotionally. He kissed back, but only right before she pulled away. He stared at her when she stared at him. She knew that she was waiting for him to push her away. And Gabe knew that he should be pushing her away, Telling her that this wasn't right, it wasn't professional. But then again, his methods in the job wasn't professional at all. So, why wasn't he pulling away? "Again, I ask, do you want me physically, or emotionally?" He asked, watching her.

Robin listened to his question for a second time and nearly smiled at him. "Both," she said gently as she watched him, "I can't deny the fact that I want to have you physically but I also ... " she paused and thought how best to say it, "you stay around when no one else will, you won't hit me, you are wonderful, you are kind and firm and ... everything" she said as she looked at him. She smiled lightly and kissed each of his cheeks gently before she put her arms around his neck and hugged him tight. She didn't know exactly how to say what she was feeling but she knew that wasn't enough.
"When you hold me," she said as she whispered gently into his ear, "I feel something more then just lust ... I feel ... I feel warm and safe and I feel like if you ever let me go I will just sink into the ground and be nothing again" she said as she held him and shut her eyes. "I'm something when I am with you ... I'm not just annoying little Robin" she said with a deep breath and a slight sniff. She wanted him to hold her forever.
"But I'm afraid though that ... that you'll get what you want and you'll leave me like everyone else" she felt the tears welling up in her eyes again and swallowed hard as she leaned back to look at him. "And I talk too much," she said with a slight waver to her tone, "and I don't know if you even want me at all ... I've spilt out my heart and I still don't know if you're just going to dump me on the ground and tell me you hate me" she said with a laugh.
She continued holding him, continued looking into his eyes. She could feel her hair bouncing between blond and brown and she could feel every nerve in her body waiting for his response. She was more terrified of the prospect of him walking away then she was of Waters coming after her. She wanted him to want her so badly. She wanted him to need her as much as she needed him. She took a deep breath and kissed him very softly on the lips, "feel free to say ... no ... if you don't ..." yet again she trailed off and smiled lightly at him, though she was certain the pain was completely evident in her face.

He watched as Robin said both. Both. Oh. So she did like him more than that. He blinked when she told him her feelings. Aw. This made his heart swell up with the fact. "Well is it safe for me to say that I like holding you, and the idea of you running away or dying on me is too much for me to bear?" He asked softly, watching her. He smiled slightly when she kissed each of his cheeks.
He held onto her, holding her lithe body in his arms. She felt so small, so tiny in his larger stockier, muscular frame. He liked it. Maybe it was time to bend the rules. He smiled. "You're never annoying. Well, at times." He chuckled at that. He chuckled.
"Well, that will never happen. I won't leave you. If I retire after this job, I say, we should go and actually date." He chuckled, as he watched her. "And yes, you do talk too much." Gabe agreed with a smirk. "And I do want you. But while on this job, I cannot have sex with you. After the job, I will." He said with a nod. Hell, he had to be blunt, didn't he? He was the type to at least honor some of the rules that was made for him.
He watched as he saw her hair bouncing between blonde and brown. Very interesting. Well, she didn't have her emotional control over herself, and of course, over her hair in return. He watched her as she kissed him back. "I wont hit you, Or leave you, or turn you away." Gabe said softly, watching her. "But I will kiss you, and hug you. Just no sex. Not right now." He said softly, watching her. "I want to know more about you. And your thoughts. Your hopes. Your dreams. Your fears. Everything." He added softly, watching her.
