Everything became blurry rather quickly after that. The next thing she knew there was bright light shining on her face, her eyes shut tight and her body enveloped by a familiar smelling blanket. Arika groaned rather loudly as she let her eyes open, and then close against the bright light. It took her a few minuets to finally get her eyes to open without pain, but when she did she saw her own apartment. No one was in bed with her. Was that curly hair guy even real? She couldn't quite remember. She had thought that he'd been in her apartment but now she had no idea. All she knew is she had a throbbing headache. Arika groaned again and slowly sat up in her bed, putting her head in her hands and massaging her temples.
"God ... I really shouldn't drink" Arika chided herself softly as she looked at the room again. Perhaps that curly haired man really had been a dream. She sure hoped so. That would mean she didn't embarrass herself in front of a perfect stranger. That thought was quickly shattered, though, when she saw some advil and a glass of water on her bedside. There was no way she had done that on her own in her state.
Arika leaned over, grabbing the glass and the pills and taking them quickly before looking at a small piece of paper sitting there. She furrowed her brows and leaned over again, grabbing the paper. She read the note once, twice, three times, and then dropped it in the bed in front of her. "Shit" she muttered. Had she slept with him and had him sneak out on her? She didn't really think so ... why would he have left that note if he'd just snuck out. Arika picked the note up again and read it a fourth time. She didn't want to call him. She didn't want to see him. She was nearly positive that he would not be nearly as good looking without the alcohol ... but she really wanted to know what had happened.
Arika groaned again, massaging her temples for another moment before getting out of bed and walking over to where her clothes from the night before lay piled in a heap. She searched the pockets and found her cell phone, walking back over to the bed and sitting on the edge. Arika held her phone in one hand and the note in another. She let out a sigh, looking at the number for another moment before dialing it into her phone and pressing the call button. Arika cussed one more time before placing the phone to her ear and letting it ring.
What time was it? Probably only about nine in the morning. Would she be waking him? She let out a long sigh and tapped her foot. What was she even supposed to say? 'Hi, did we sleep together?' no that did not sound good at all. Finally she heard the ringing stop and someone answer on the other end of the line.
"Uh ... yeah ... hi there, Nathan? Yeah ... erm ... this is Arika." Arika said awkwardly, her voice slightly rough from a combination of being sleepy still and from nerves.

After dropping Arika home, it only took a few minutes for Nathan to arrive home, take an advil or two, and head to dreamland. And at about eight in the morning, Nathan was awake and ready to do nothing that day. He really had no plans for that day, considering his newest volume was out in publishing, and he was thinking that he had to go on a worldwide tour soon. He yawned as he scratched his boxer-clothed butt cheek as he stumbled out of his bedroom and sat in his living room and turned on the television with his remote. He shook his head, feeling his curls bounce around, as he yawned again. God. Why did his body not let him sleep in anymore? Nathan had no idea why. Just that he was getting older.
He wasn't sure if she would remember anything from last night. And he surely hoped that she didn't think that they had sex and he left during the night. That would suck balls for him, considering they didn't have sex at all. He sighed as he got up to make himself a cup of tea, to wake him up. He put the kettle full of water onto the stove, and turned on the stove.
BRING BRING
Nathan glared at hte phone. Who was calling him at this time in the morning? Misha, he knew was still with Macy, considering he hasn't called yet, and Misha is usually up before Nathan. He let it ring a few more times, before deciding to actually pick up the phone. "Uh ... yeah ... hi there, Nathan? Yeah ... erm ... this is Arika." He heard her say awkwardly. He chuckled. "Well hi there Arika. Sleep well?" He asked with a smile on his face, as he leaned against the counter, waiting for his water to be ready.

Arika pursed her lips and ruffled up her hair when she heard the voice on the other end of the line. Talking to him just made the fact that she'd been drunk the night before more real, and thus so too was the hangover. Arika let out a long breath and shook her head, shutting her eyes. "I guess ... uh ... I don't really remember much from last night." Arika said awkwardly as she looked at the now empty glass on her bedside. He'd been in her apartment. She had to ask what had happened. "Did we sleep together or something?" Arika asked, hoping her tone wasn't too terribly upset. She just hated the idea that she'd slept with some random man ... and if she had that he'd leave her in the middle of the night and leave her with nothing more then a note.
Arika ruffled her hair again and stood up, walking over to her bathroom to check how she looked. She pouted when she looked in the mirror. Her make-up was smudged, her hair a mess and she had bags under her eyes. Well perhaps she just couldn't blame him for leaving. She looked like hell. Arika licked her lips as she picked up a brush, putting her phone on speakerphone and placing it on the counter as she began to work through the knots she had in her hair.
"I seriously don't remember anything, I'm sorry if I said or did anything stupid. Like ... uh ... well ... yeah." Arika said awkwardly again. She really didn't understand why he'd be in her apartment if she hadn't messed around with him. "I do hope my actions wont turn you off from going to the club again" Arika said in a rather professional tone, making a face as she tried to get through a particularly bad knot.

He heard her let out a long breath before talking into the phone softly. He smirked. He bet she didn't remember anything from the night before, and he was right. Nathan chuckled when she said that they slept together. He blinked as he realized that she asked if they slept together or not, as he waited for the kettle to be done.
HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
He jumped hearing the high pitched sound that emitted from the kettle. He heard her say that she didn't remember anything. "Oh no, we didn't sleep together. I just escorted you home. Honestly, I have standards. I would have a one night stand when both of us remember it in the morning, not just one of us." Nathan said with a smirk on the phone, as he grabbed a mug from his cabinet and poured himself the hot water into the mug. He then grabbed a tea bag and placed it in it.
"It definitely didn't turn me off from going to your club again." Nathan responded back, mocking her professional tone. He took a spoon and stirred the contents in the mug, and sighed softly. "So." He said, putting on a cheerful tone. "What's your response to my note?" He asked with a smile on his face, before realizng that she couldn't see his face at all. Nathan grabbed his sugar from the cabinet and poured in two spoonfuls before stirring his tea and sipped it, sighing gently.

Arika let out a sigh and grabbed some leave in conditioner from her counter, spraying it into the knot. The bottle went clattering to the ground when suddenly she heard a hissing noise in the background. Arika cussed under her breath and picked up the bottle. She sighed and then listened to Nathan as he told her that they did not sleep together. She rolled her eyes at his comment about one night stands. Sure she'd had plenty of them ... but usually the males weren't so blunt. Actually usually the males had no idea that it was going to be one night. Arika usually snuck out before they could wake up. Arika rubbed her forehead as she looked down at the phone, sneering at his mocking tone. She could practically hear him smirking.
Arika let out a slow sigh when he asked about her response to the note. Did she really want to go out with him? For all she knew he was really a troll. "I should probably be home for when my sist-" Arika was cut off by a rather loud beeping, indicating her call waiting was being used. "Dang ... one second I have another call." Arika quickly picked up her phone and switched to the other line. "Hello?"
"OOOOH ARI I'M SO GLAD YOU ANSWERED!" Macy's voice came tearing through the room and Arika flinched.
"No yelling Macy ... I am really rather hungover here" Arika groaned as she massaged her temples again.
"Ohhhh did you sleep with Nathan?" Macy asked excitedly, lowering her voice slightly.
"No, where are you?" Arika snapped, getting completely tired of the conversation.
Arika heard giggles in the background and something that sounded like kissing or something else she didn't really want to know about. "I'm with Misha, Arika, I think I'm in love!" Arika practically gagged at that. She shook her head and let out a long sigh.
"Don't be stupid, Ma-"
"SHUT up Arika. He's amazing ... the best guy ever ... and the way he touches me ... god ... I've never had such good s-"
"Okay okay I don't need to hear about your ... ah ... relations. Look ... are you coming home?" Arika asked as she heard some more giggling, and then Macy shushing someone through giggles. "Nevermind ... I'm going out ... I can't stand being locked up in here while you do ... that" Arika snapped as she hung up on Macy and went back to the line with Nathan.
"Nathan? Hi again, sorry about that ... look ... meet me outside my club in an hour ... we'll have brunch." Arika said quickly before hanging up and getting ready to have a quick shower. She was frustrated, hungover, and she wanted to have some kind of fun ... even if all that meant was some brunch with some curly haired guy.

Nathan wasn't the type to be beating around the bush. He was upfront and blunt. For some reason, people did like that about him. He was usually very personable, though still conceited as ever. He heard her let out a slow sigh, before her say that she wanted to stay home for when her sister comes back from her night of fun with Misha.
"Sure." He said before he heard silence. He hummed to himself softly as he picked up his mug of tea and walked to his living room. He sat down on the couch and turned on the television with a remote in hand. He sighed softly, flipping to the news. He watched the news coverage about the riots in Cairo, Egypt. Wow. He watched, interested.
Misha rolled over in the bed as he watched Macy exclaim over the phone. He chuckled when she lowered her voice to ask about her and Nathan. He smirked, and leaned over, kissing her neck gently. He heard her giggling at him. He smirked. He actually wanted a relationship with Macy. As odd as it is, it was true. Misha wasn't the type to fool around with just anyone. He heard her say that. "Well thank you love." Misha said, his voice softening as he heard her say that. He smirked, as he kissed her neck, making Macy giggle more. "Hello? Arika?" Misha heard Macy ask when he was done "torturing" her. "I think she hung up on you love." Misha said with a deep chuckle, as he leaned over to kiss her lips again.
Nathan yawned before jumping hearing Arika's voice resonate in his ears. "Oh yeah sure. I'll be there soon." Nathan said with a smirk before hanging up with her. He got up and turned off the television with his remote and went to get dressed for the day.
------
An hour later, Nathan stood outside of the club, wearing skinny jeans, a red plaid shirt with a black t-shirt underneath, scuffed looking converse sneakers, and sunglasses on his face, hiding his face from view. Surprisingly, no paparazzi were around, and Nathan was loving this warm spring day. He breathed in the refreshing air and smiled, as he leaned against the stone wall, his hands shoved in his pockets as he waited for Arika to arrive.

Arika let out a long sigh as she applied some bright red lipstick to match her rather slinky red sun dress. She'd grown so accustom to wearing black button ups and black slacks for work that wearing a dress was slightly uncomfortable. She had not tried looking good for a date in ... too long. Not that this was a date. It was just ... going to brunch with some guy. Arika sighed as she put the lipstick back into her purse and observed her reflection. The dress fit her perfectly, her hair fell over her shoulder in it's usual annoyingly curled fashion and her eyes looked bigger then usual due to their well outlined makeup job. She was a few minuets late, she was sure. Oh well ... if he was really interested in seeing her he could wait five minuets.
Finally Arika was pleased with her attire and she pulled out her wand, flicking it. With a loud pop she appeared outside her bar. She looked around for a few moments until she spotted him. Well ... he did look good. Maybe the booze had not impaired her judgment as badly as she had assumed. Arika gave the man a soft smile and stepped towards him. Arika was about to extend her hand for a shake when suddenly she heard her cell phone ringing and she let out a soft curse. "Hi, sorry, one second." she said quickly.
"Hello?" Arika practically snapped at whoever was calling her.
"Arika did you hang up on me earlier?" Macy's annoyingly giggly tone came through the phone, making Arika groan lightly. "Whatever, I don't care. Where are you Ari? I want you to officially meet Misha!" Macy giggled a bit more as Arika heard her sister kissing someone (supposedly Misha).
"I'm busy Macy. I'm going for brunch with someone ... and stop calling me while you're snogging ... it's disgusting." Arika snapped as she once again hung up her phone on Macy. Arika turned back to Nathan, giving him a nod. "My damn sister keeps telling me she's in love. I need a distraction ... let's go for brunch." Arika knew she was being a bit blunt, but she couldn't help it really. She was angry with her sister and completely frustrated.
Macy pouted as she looked over at Misha. "She hung up on me again! She said she was going for brunch and to stop calling her while I was snogging you. She said it was disgusting ... do you think my snogging is disgusting baby?" Macy grinned as she put her arms around Mischa's neck.
"That girl is constantly bringing home these jerks. She's always saying they're 'good guys' and then they end up hitting her and I end up with the busted lip from defending her!" Arika muttered as she turned to look through the window of her shop to make sure the girls had properly locked up. Arika let out a sigh and shook her long locks. "Sorry. Sorry ... I'm just worried. I haven't had a chance to do anything just for me in a long time. C'mon, lets go and I'll try to be a bit more ... friendly" Arika said simply as she smiled a stunning smile over at Nathan.

Nathan was fine with waiting. AFter all, it was a gorgeous day and he was fine waiting outside, watching people as they walked past him to go off to some destination that they were headed to. He didn't need to know where. Nathan amused himself by making up stories about the people that he's watching. Kind of how he brainstorms for his ideas for his comics. He couldn't help it. His mind is just a machine for ideas that will soon fly out from his mind onto the paper.
He heard a pop and turned to see Arika walk over to him, and gave him a smile. Wow. Even in the natural sunlight she looked gorgeous. Nathan was right. As always. He smirked and started to move closer towards her before the cell phone ring again. He blinked, and nodded. "It's alright."
Misha watched as Macy asked why Arika hung up on her earlier. He smiled as she leaned over to kiss Misha. He smiled kissing her back gently. They were so different. He's usually stoic and straight-laced and Macy is just loosy goosey and free. Maybe that's what Misha needed. Someone who was just the total opposite to him. Hence why Nathan and him got along so well.
Nathan couldn't help but to listen in on the phone call. Well, apparently Misha's having his sweet time with his lady friend. Nathan smirked at the thought. He nodded. "Sure." He said with a smile. "Where to?" He asked.
Misha chuckled. "You're not disgusting at all." He said with a smile, looking down at her and kissing her forehead gently. "Also, she probably doesn't like our loud sounds of snogging." He said with a slightly cheeky grin towards her.
Nathan narrowed his eyes at Arika. "I'm guessing you don't remember what I said at the club. Misha is a good guy. I've known him all my life. He would die before hitting a girl." Nathan said sternly, actually serious for once. He then looked over at her when she said sorry. "Let her do her own thing. Trust me," Nathan gave her a goofy grin. "She's in good hands." Nathan said, with a smile as they set upon their destination. "There's a place that I want to go to. My treat." Nathan said with a wink thrown her way. "It's called Patissiere Valerie."

Arika looked over at Nathan when he gave her a stern tone. She lifted an eyebrow, watching as he said that Misha was a good guy. She'd heard that before. Then again she'd always heard that from her sister. She'd never even met Macy's dates friends ... perhaps Macy would be fine. Arika let out a long sigh when Nathan told her to let Macy do her own thing. "Sure. She's a grown woman she can do what she wants." Arika said simply as she shrugged. She smiled up at Nathan when he gave her a goofy sort of grin. It was mildly adorable, really. She was surprised that this guy was still good looking out of the club and when not under a screen of alcohol.
"Why than you Nathan, that sounds lovely" Arika said with a small smile as she moved along next to him, chuckling slightly at his wink. It had been months since Arika had been able to be giggly and carefree, and she really rather enjoyed being able to be that. She was just going to let go, at least for their brunch, and be herself ... not worrying about her bar or Macy for once.
Macy giggled and poked Misha lightly. "Well I love it so she'll just have to get over it" Macy whispered as she leaned over and pressed her lips against Misha's. "Want to go out for lunch baby? I'll just have to stop by my place and grab some fresh clothes. I can't exactly go out like this." Macy giggled as she motioned to her rather unclothed state.
Arika walked close to Nathan with a smile on her face and her face turned up towards the sun. "It's a lovely day, don't you think?" Arika said, making small talk easily. She was used to having to make small talk at work. "So Nathan, I didn't embarrass myself too badly last night did I? I vaguely remember calling you cute a few times." Arika laughed lightly as she looked up at him with a sparkling smile. Not many people got to see her carefree easy smiles, mainly because she generally found if her smile wasn't forced or practiced it was really rather ugly.

He watched when she raised an eyebrow at him. He raised an eyebrow back. He couldn't help it. He was true to his word. Misha wasn't a bad guy, and Nathan wasn't a liar, for the most part. He smiled when she said that Macy can do whatever she wants. Good. He smirked and nodded. "That's right." He said soothingly, before he gave her his trademark goofy grin.
"It's my pleasure." Nathan said when she thanked him. He liked seeing ehr smile. He liked her giggle. He couldn't help it. She looked so lively and carefree and she looked absolutely gorgeous.
Misha chuckled with a smile towards her. "Sure I would love to get some lunch. All of our..." Misha paused, thinking. "activities, got me starving." He said with a wink to Macy. He got up, and brought her up with him. "Shower here or there?" He teased gently with a smirk. Well, Nathan did teach him a few tricks.
Nathan smiled. "It is." He said with a smile back. He knew how to small talk, thanks to the countless of interviews that he was in. He smiled and chuckled. "YOu didn't embarass yourself at all. It was rather cute that you kept telling me that I was cute." Nathan said with a smirk. He grinned when he saw her sparkling smile. Wow. Nathan was at a loss for words when he saw her smile. He grinned. "I think you'll like this patissiere. It's small and cozy." He added with a smile.

Arika crinkled her nose and chuckled as she looked over at Nathan when he commented on her saying he was cute. "Ah so I did embarrass myself," she smirked a bit and looked back up at the sky, "I'm surprised I didn't throw my self at you like a fool." Arika chuckled, not at all sure she hadn't. She hoped she hadn't because that would have meant he had turned her down and despite that being the noble thing for him to have done somewhere in her she'd feel rejected. Arika brushed a hand through her hair, smiling up at the sun as she nodded. "It sounds lovely. I'm sick of large crowds. Small and cozy sounds divine." Arika chuckled lightly and flipped her hair back.
Macy giggled as she was pulled up. She leaned in kissing Misha. "You little devil you" she blushed a bit and leaned in to another kiss. "You are so bloody cute ... I don't think I'm ever going to be able to keep my hands off of you" Mary muttered against his lips with another giggle.
"So Nathan, how far is this little place?" Arika asked as she scratched the back of her neck, rolling her shoulders. "So you're famous somehow huh? I remember that much seeing as everyone seemed to be telling me." Arika laughed brightly and looked over at Nathan again. She felt so ... carefree ... she had not felt like that in a very long time. Maybe being around Nathan was a good thing. He seemed to help her be looser ... and not in a bad way.

Nathan grinned when she said that she embarassed herself. He smirked more when she said that she didn't throw herself at him like a fool. But he'll keep that one to himself. "Nope you didn't." He said with a grin as he watched as they continued down the street to the cafe that Nathan loved to frequent. He looked over at her as she ran her fingers through her dark hair, and he longed to entangle his fingers in there while kissing her. Woah, did Nathan just think that?
Oh right.
He's a guy.
Of course he'll think that.
Misha grinned as she kissed him again. "Oh me? A devil? Never." Misha joked as she kissed her again. "Then don't try to keep your hands off of me." He muttered against her lips, as he pulled her in towards him.
"About another block or so, why?" He asked, looking over at her when she rolled her shoulders. He chuckled and nodded. "Yeah. Famous comic book artist. No biggie." He said nonchalantly, even though it was a big-biggie for many other people. And luckily no paparazzi today. Nathan was saved! Sort of. He liked that she was more carefree and open today. "So, how did you start opening that club of yours? Ah here we are." Nathan interrupted himself as he opened the door that lead to the cafe called, "Patissiere Valerie" and he led her in, letting her walk in first. "Where do you want to sit?" he asked, watching her intently, not taking off his sunglasses just yet.
