Alice sighed as she rested her forehead on the back of tony's head. She couldn't believe that they would be getting out there. She sighed softly. She bit her lip as Yinsen bolted them in. She had her legs on the sides of his hips, in a almost typical piggybak fashion. However, Alice felt like a kid in a back-carrier that she would see the hip mothers wearing with their babies on their back. However, she knew that this was the only way out.
Alice bit her lip when she felt Tony shout after him. She didn't want him to go out either. She giggled when he tried to back his shoulder. It was fine for her. She put her hand on his shoulder and squeezed gently. "You'll do great getting us out of here." Alice said softly as she leaned back as he started to move out of their room and out into the dark tunnels of the caves.
Alice nodded. "I'm ready." She said softly. She knew that the men were scared. She smirked at that. They were ready for payback. She held back a scream as he ran down the cave. She didn't know that he could run that fast. Nor did she realize that it kind of reminded her of being on a rollercoaster. Though this time, she was slightly fearing for her life and that this was much scarier than she thought it would ever be. She gasped when he used the torch to kill the men around Yinsen. Alice leaned her head to the side to see around Yinsen and gasped softly. "Yinsen." She breathed out.
Yinsen let out a shaky laugh and shook his head gently. "It's fine. I'm dying. I knew my chances." Yinsen said softly. Alice blinked. "But what about your family?" She asked. "Don't you want to see them?" She added, biting her lip, tears forming in the corner of her eyes. Yinsen merely smiled at them. "I am seeing my family now. They're dead." He closed his eyes slowly. "I'll watch over you two from above, protect each other. Love each other." Yinsen added before opening his eyes weakly. "Good bye Tony. Good bye Alice. It was great knowing you." He said softer before growing limp. Alice held back a sob and rested her head on his shoulder, trying not to cry, "We need to get out of here Tony. He wants us to get out of here." Alice whispered into his ear, before kissing his cheek.
And soon, they were out of the cave, using the torch on the people shooting him outside of the cave. Alice watched as Tony went over to the village where they kept stock of his weapons and using the torch, blew it up. Alice's eyes widened as an explosion erupted behind them, making them fly up into the air. And about 10 miles later, they landed in the sand, pieces of the metal all around them. Alice's eyes widened even more, before she mentally checked her body over, and then got out of the hole they made and winced as she felt a stabbing pain on the back of her right calf. She looked down ppast her jeans to see blood starting to form through her jeans. She unbuttoned her button down, leaving her in a tanktop jeans and her sneakers. She wrapped her button down around her head.
Alice looked over at him. "You should do the same, and if you have any cuts, I'll help you." Alice advised, lookng over at him. She didn't care about her cut just yet. She wanted to make sure he was alright.

Tony felt her breath on his neck as she sighed before, feeling her head rest on the back of his. He shifted from foot to foot, becoming, incredibly impatient. He could practically feel the bolts being tightened until; they couldn’t be tightened no more. Adrenaline slowly moving through his veins, attacking his whole body as it went on its rampage through him. Time had slowed, he felt as if he was moving centimeter by centimeter. It seemed as if this was happening on purpose, to stall him and his mission.
Coldness, hardness, and rage were the only emotions he needed; the others were a hindrance to him at the moment. He didn’t need the other emotions as of right now, what he needed was to, survive. Survive for Alice, Yinsen, Pepper, and Obadiah, to survive for himself. He curtly nodded, speaking in a soft, hushed voice, “I know.” How he could be arrogant at a time like this may seem to cross someone’s mind but, hey, he was Tony Stark.
Tony said nothing to her, his mind becoming a methodical machine of calculations, trajectories, possibilities, and statistics of how they were going to survive and get away. He noticed that she had become tense as soon as he bolted down the cave. He could have warned her that it wasn’t going to be a smooth ride at all. He had almost forgotten about how hot it got when he used the torch, key word almost. He made of a face of disgust, the men deserved to die. They caused the sight before, his eyes. Yinsen. They caused were going to be the cause destruction and he wasn’t going to let them.
Realization hit him; Yinsen would be going to see his family. Tony stared down at the man he had known for only a couple months, a man who was brilliantly gifted. A man who Tony had come to see almost as a father figure to him, a man who had died because, of him. He was dying because; of his weapons that those men had taken so Tony could build a missile. He stared hard at the man, no emotions on his face. Yinsen knew how Tony felt and Tony wasn’t going to be emotional. Tony stared at the man has his breath became more labored before Yinsen’s chest stilled. Tony could tell Alice was about to cry, he slowly stood up and nodded to her, “I know Alice. I know.” He stood up, putting the helmet back on and began to walk out of the cave. Yinsen’s death would not be in vain.
He killed them and the weapons. There was no way he was going to let any of those men survive or any of his weapons. Yinsen’s death would not become in vain, Tony would not allow it to be so. He stared at the burning weapons for a moment, watching the fires lick his company emblem. An explosion rang through his ears as they were sling shot into the air. Tony opened his eyes and let out a short, soft laugh. They had escaped, they had done it. He had never been so happy to see miles of sand in his whole life. He turned to Alice and watched her get out of the hole. His brows furrowed as he shot up out of the hole, heading over to her. She was hurt and trying to fix herself. He shook his head, women. He did the same as her and pulled of his shirt, before wrapping it around his head. He walked over to her, a hint of a smile in his eyes.
He patted himself down, “I’m alright Alice, but, you are not.” He crouched down and looked at her, “Give me your leg.” He stared at her hard, yeah he had a couple scrapes but, nothing compared to her cut. He’ll be damned if he lets her fix his up before hers.

Alice smiled when she heard him laugh as they landed. Alice couldn't believe it. They escaped. They were truly gone out of the Afghanistanian caves, and people. Alice blinked when he got out of the hold and heading over to her. She wanted to help him first. She furrowed her brow at him. She couldn't help but to eye his form. Sure, he was wearing only a tanktop and jeans much like herself, but hey, he looked very good showing his muscles with that tanktop on. Alice couldn't help but to smile when he walked over to her.
She frowned. "You don't need to help me." She said, but stretching her leg and resting it on his thigh. She clicked a pocket on the utility belt open and there were gauze and tape and ace bandage. She really had to give it to Yinsen who gave her this utility belt to hold on to. Alice couldn't help but her eyes started to tear, in thought of him. She looked over and clicked another pocket open, her cell phone resting inside. "Call your friend Jim Rhodes. He should be here soon." She said softly, watching him as he bandaged up her leg. She shakily got up, and unhooked her harness and left it there in the sand. "We need to go that way." She pointed towards infront of her.
Alice knew that was the way to get home. She sighed as they started to walk, hand in hand. She was still a bit shaky from the landing, and her leg didn't help her. She gasped as she heard copters and she waved a hand over her head. "Over here!" Alice screamed, smiling over at Tony who looked ecstatic himself. The helicopters slowed down and landed about 100 yards infront of them. Jim Rhodes walked out, wearing his army uniform.
Jim Rhodes, a tall proud black man, and the boyfriend to Tony's assistant Pepper Potts, and good friend of Tony Stark walked out of the military helicopter. "Hey! You are so lucky that we are getting you guys out of here." Jim yelled over the helicopter. He looked over at Alice and smiled. "You're the young lady that got in contact with me that was a captive with Tony. Good to meet you Alice." He said with a smile as he shook hands with Alice. "Let's get you onto the helicopter and relax. You're going home!" Jim said with a grin on his face.
However, before going home, they had to go to Washington D.C., to get questioned about what happened, plus to get new clothes and a nice hot shower. Alice couldn't wait. She got onto the helicopter and sat down next to Tony on the plane. "We're going back to America." Alice whispered gently to Tony in his ear, holding his hand gently. She squeezed it gently as she rested her head on his shoulder, wanting sleep.

Tony stuck his hands in the sand and raised them, watching the grains of sand slip through his fingers to be carried off by the slight breeze. His chest muscles flexed as he inhaled deeply, taking in the fresh air surrounding him and Alice. He laughed, they did it. They escaped the cave, not that he didn’t believe they would because, he did. His calculations were correct but, he was still elated that they had survived the ordeal and got out without any major difficulties. He raked his eyes over her in admiration; she was a tough girl all right.
Tony chuckled as she spoke, “Sure, you don’t.” He nods in agreement with her before; a smirk flitted across his face as she rested her leg on his thigh. He reached for the gauze and began to clean the cut as he hummed slightly. They were really going home. He inspected the wound before wrapping it up and taping off the bandage. His thumb found the tear and wiped it away silently. His fingers wrapped around the cell phone before, dialing a number. He couldn’t help but, smile as Jim answered the phone. He talked briefly with Jim until the battery began to decrease. He handed back the phone to Alice, “Put it in your bra, Alice. You never know when it might need to stay there.” He smirked and began to walk alongside her in the direction she had pointed.
Tony’s mind wanted to question Alice and her decision of which way they should head but, he forced himself not to. He had learned to trust her and he needed to trust her now. His ears picked up the faint but, loud buzz of the helicopter blades. His head turned toward the direction and began to run toward the helicopter, dragging Alice along with him. A grin danced across his face as he stopped, watching Jim walk out of the helicopter, all regal and military.
Tony smirked as he placed his hands on his waist, staring at his good friend. God, Jim was a good sight to see out here in this sand-filled hell. He laughed, “You stick out like a sore thumb, Jim. They might see you.” He shrugged his shoulders, nonchalantly, “We could always walk, Jim, the press would eat that up.” He chuckled as he embraced Jim in a bear hug. He rolled his eyes, “Thanks for stating the obvious Jim.” He chuckled as he took Alice’s hand and began to walk toward the helicopter. “Those words never sounded this sweet.” He whispered under his breath as he ducked under the helicopter’s whirling blades.
Tony leaned his head against the back of the seat, staring out of the window as the helicopter began to rise. The whirling blades picking up sand and throwing it around them viciously, forming little sand tornadoes all around. He squeezed her hand back in reassurance, “That we are, Alice, that we are.” His head swerved to her direction, a half smile, half smirk dancing faintly across his lips. His thumb grazed over her hand lightly as she leaned her head on his shoulder.
His eyes slowly opened to the sound of nothing, so peaceful and calm inside the helicopter except for Jim blabbing into his headset. “Honestly, Jim do you ever not talk to that thing?” He smirked at Jim who mouthed ‘Boss and we’ll be landing soon.’ Tony smirked and looked over at the sleeping beauty. His eyes stared at her sleeping form for a brief moment before, looking out the window to see them getting closer to a military base. No doubt to be questioned—good lord—and to be checked out. He turned back to Alice and brought his lips down on hers lightly, “Alice, wake up. We’re here.” Here meaning military base which equals boring hours of questioning galore. As soon as the heli landed, he unbuckled himself and threw open the door, not caring—listening—to Jim’s protests. He carefully maneuvered himself out from underneath the sleeping Alice who was slowly coming back to reality.
With a jump down, he inhaled the smell of his surroundings. “America, good to be home.” He smiled and turned back to the helicopter, waiting for Alice to remove herself. His brows furrowed together slightly, a dull pain at his chest, Yinsen should be here with them. His knuckles turning bone white as he gripped the door of the helicopter. He looked up at the sound of movement and smiled at Alice. “Good morning, sunshine.”

Alice only smirked at him before shaking her head in disbelief as she put her cell phone back into her bra. Hopefully, she will get a real charger back on land. Not to mention her belongings back. Apparently, there were some military people out in the area where her belongings got snatched as she was captured. It had pretty much her credit card, plus her drivers license, as well as her camera plus her charger for her phone.
Jim chuckled at Tony. "Well not right now." Jim said with a smirk as he gestured to his light-colored military outfit before hugging him beack. Alice beamed at him when he said that to her, as they got into the helicopter. Alice could cry. She wasn't sure if it was sadness or happiness or both. Sadness because of Yinsen. Happiness because of Yinsen and them going to America. Alice smirked when he watched her with a half-smile/half-smirk. God, she could kiss him right then and there. She had to admit that she was starting to like him even more now than ever. Alice blushed when she felt his thumb graze her hand gently. It was his way of showing that he cared, and he was happy.
Alice was peacefully sleeping. In her dreams, she was back at home, with Tony, just relaxing and watching television with him. Nice and peaceful dream. Alice stirred gently when he kissed her lips gently. Jim's eyes widened at the show of display from Tony. Had Tony Stark really changed? He never looked that caring towards another woman before. And yet, he's looking at her like how Jim would look at Pepper. He looked over and gasped. "Tony! Don't you dare-!" Jim's protests went unheeded as Tony stepped out of the helicopter.
Alice sat up gently, rubbing her eyes gently as she looked over at Tony saying good morning. She had no idea what time it was or what day it was. She smiled, albeit still half-sleepy towards him. "Good morning cupcake." Alice replied with a smile. Jim watched as Alice stepped out of the helicopter and slightly limped her way over to Tony. She moved close to Tony and hugged him around his middle, burying her head into his chest, wanting to cry so much but she knew she had to wait. Jim also hopped off of the helicopter and raised a brow towards the two.
"I'm guessing you're together after being captives together for 2 months, huh?" Jim asked with a smirk towards the two. Alice blushed and shrugged. "What's it to you? You're taken. And so am I." She smirked. Meaning, yes, Alice Woods was taken by Tony Stark. And she had a small feeling that Tony wanted to tell the world that as well. Jim chuckled and shook his head before walking first. "You'll be here for a few hours for questioning, then after that, hot showers and access to go shopping, my treat." Jim offered with a smirk. Alice grinned. Jim was pretty cool. A bit stiff, but she guessed thats how Pepper was as well, so they were a good match.
Several hours and a hot shower later, Jim dropped them off in the middle of town, each wearing their clean clothes that they've been wearing, plus 2 military credit cards, and a beanie plus sunglasses for Tony and Alice to disguise them. "So wait, we can go shopping now?" She asked with a laugh. Jim nodded. "That's the plan. And call me when you guys want a lift back to the base and we'll sent you guys home to L.A." Jim replied with a smile. Alice muttered. "I thought we were going home to L.A." But Jim didn't hear it and zoomed off. She smirked as she then pulled Tony into a casual looking shop. H&M, where they had casual looks for her and nice almost dressy looks for him. In the end, Alice bought a light floral dress with a v-necked and 3/4 sleeves that ended just at her knee. She also bought blue cardigan and black heels. She smiled as she looked next door. "I'll be right back in a half an hour." She wanted to go to the salon next door to get her hair cut short.
Half an hour later, and got to change into her outfit, plus her short hair looked great. And thanks to the makeup counter, she had some eyeliner and mascara on, but that was it. She came into H&M and walked over to Tony and smirked as she watched him watch her. "What's cookin, good lookin?" Alice knew that she looked a lot better. Sure, she would rather wear frumpy jeans, but after wearing jeans and cargo shorts for the past 2 months, Alice was damn glad that she was wearing a flirty dress.

Tony sneaks a teasing glance at her bra as his eyes briefly capture her shaking her head at him. Adrenaline slowly pumps through his veins at the thought of being on American soil, being back on his turf and sleeping in his own bed. Oh, how he missed his bed and the pillows, especially the pillows. He practically felt like he was drooling at the thought of his soft, warm, fluffy pillows. He shook his head as he diverted his mind to some boring topic; sand.
Tony raised a brow at him, “You sure? I could see you a mile away even though you’re in your spiffy, high tech military outfit.” He grinned at him, clapping a hand on Jim’s shoulder. “How’s Pepper?” There was a hunch in his gut, she probably flipped and went commando on Jim about him being taken hostage. Yep, that sounds like Pepper. He chuckled softly as he ran his hand through his dirty, sweaty hair.
Once received a nickname for that famous half-smile/half-smirk, sex god. Yep, was a nickname given to him by some reporter he slept with before being interviewed-was never interviewed by her. He catches a glimpse of her blush, says nothing, knowing all to well where it might lead. Tony isn’t very good at showing emotions, well some emotions.
He smiled lightly, taking furtive glances up to see if anyone saw him smile. Hey, has an image to uphold despite him wanting to become romantic with her. He ran his thumb over her wrist as she began to slowly wake from her slumber. He looked up at Jim, “Say anything and I’ll tell Pepper about Malibu.” Dead serious. He smirks lightly and looked out of the window. Patience was something Tony never learned nor could learn to use. “Too late, Jimbo.” He closed his eyes as he felt the artificial wind whip through his hair as he stood there.
Awh, how adorable. She looked like a little child who had just woken up from a nap—which she did, in a sense. He leaned against the opening, staring at her. “You slept a lot, almost for a day and a half.” His head leans against the palm of his hand as he stares at her, despite the wind from the choppers blowing his hair around like wild. His arms wrap around her waist, bringing her even closed to him. He can tell she’s holding back emotions; Yinsen’s death was really affecting her. His fingers run over her hair, soothing her without making her emotions come out. His head swerves to Jim, mouths ‘Malibu.’
Despite the urge to roll his eyes, he responds with just enough sarcasm. “Of course not, Jim.” He looks down at Alice as she gets slightly snappy with Jim, smirks. That’s my girl. A chuckle escapes his lips as he brought her closer to him, “Well, she told you.” He looks down at her, contemplating on how to keep her somewhat out of the spot light but, known who she’s with. He nodded, cutting Jim short, “We know the usual military procedure.” He grinned, hot showers. That should be very interesting, very. Tony could tell that Alice was slowly, but, surely warming up to Jim. The man has been a good friend of his for years.
---While Alice did girl stuff---
Tony picked up the most expensive sunglasses the store offered and began to try them on as he waited for Alice to get done with girl stuff. A smirk plastered onto his face as he keeps one pair on and proceeds to find a hat to go with it. Jim was going to kill him. Oh well, Jim offered to pay. A voice enters his mind, "What's cookin, good lookin?", he slowly turns to her. He slowly takes off the glasses, leaving the hat on his head. “You look stunning.” He smiles at her as he slowly lets his eyes travel over her.

Jim chuckled as Tony clapped ahand on his shoulder. He smirked when he asked about Pepper. "Well, she flipped, but then calmed down when we got your text saying that you're fine and with another captive." Jim said at first. "Now she's just waiting to yank on your ear and scold you when you get come." Jim chuckled. She did act particularly motherly towards Tony. Even though Tony did have a mother of his own until he was young.
Jim narrowed his eyes at Tony when he threatened him about Malibu. "Oh shut up. If you want the girl, you probably will have to tell the press about it soon enough. Better from yourself than the tabloids." Jim knew Tony well enough to show that he knew which was better to go by: the person themselves, rather than the trashy tabloids people pick up when they're bored. Alice blinked when he stared at her waking up. She yawned again. "Well good, because the night before that we were up. And I needed sleep." Alice said with a nod. She smiled slightly when he held her, and stroked her hair. She knew that he was feeling the emotions too. But at the same time, she was glad that he was calming her down. Alice had to be calm in order to go through the several hour questioning by the military.
Jim rolled his eyes with a chuckle. "Oh no, I have been dissed. Whatever shall I do?" Jim asked sarcastically witih a smirk towards Alice. Alice rolled her eyes as she leaned into Tony's frame. "More like whoever shall you do Jim." Alice smirked, overhearing before she fell asleep that he was Pepper's boyfriend.
She still couldn't help but to blush when his eyes traveled over her. Alice had to admit that she looked pretty good in her outfit. Not to revealing, but not conservative. She wanted to keep it classy. "Well good. I feel stunning. Amazing how America does that to you." Alice simply said before kissing his cheek gently before looking over at some clothes for him.
A few hours later, they walked off of the military helicopter at the L.A airport with a car in tow for them. Pepper came out of the car and smiled seeing the two. Alice had gotten Pepper's number from Tony and they have chatted for the past 5 hour plane ride back to L.A. All she wanted right now was a burger. And she felt much closer with Pepper now. Jim followed the two after and walked over to Pepper and kissed her gently. Pepper smiled and kissed him gently back before breaking away and narrowed her eyes at Tony. "So glad to see you back in the States, Tony." Pepper said, with a motherly tone that made Alice fight the urge to hide behind Tony as if she was a child that had done something bad.

Yep, that totally sounded like Pepper Potts to him. Mother to all and someone who enjoys Tony’s pain, somewhat(if he deserved it). He smirked, he was looking forward to seeing Pepper. He was really looking forward to flaunting off Alice to the press…somewhat. He chuckled, “Hell hath no fury like a woman’s scorn.” He smiled lightly, he missed being home. Thank God, they had arrived safe and without any trouble.
Tony smirked, he still had something over Jim’s head. Blackmail. He smirked at Alice, before smiling sweetly at Jim, “We wouldn’t want that to slip out now do we? I’ll tell the damn press when Alice and I are ready to tell them. I don’t owe them anything.” Well, yeah, he kind of did but, he wasn’t going to admit that. He was trying to make a point here and damn it, he was not going to let Jim’s technicality beat him. He nodded to her as a smile flitted across. “You’ll probably need more than that.” He winks at her with a smirk on his face. Most women would have broken down within the first week of Alice’s captivity. He had to hand it to her, she was handling everything so well. His hand rubbed her shoulder lightly as they walked away from the helicopter. Everything was going to turn out just fine.
Tony smirked and spoke with a shrug of his shoulders, “You had it coming. Go cry in a corner?” He raised his brows at Jim and looked down at Alice. This woman almost had him head over heels for her. He laughed as Alice muttered softly which went unnoticed by Jim who had already went back into military mode.
He smirked, wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her up against him. He smiled down at her, “It looks nice on you, although, I preferred it went you went all natural.” He smirked down at her and placed his now paid for, sunglasses on him . He grinned, “You ready to go?” He followed her gaze, “I have enough clothes, Alice.”
Tony smirked, lowering the sunglasses slightly to look at Pepper. “Well, look what the cat dragged in! Pepper, it’s so good to see you.” He pushed the sunglasses back up, before straightening his tie. “Pepper, call Obadiah, tell him to schedule a press meeting. Oh and I want some Burger King right now.” He pats his stomach before, looking up at Pepper, “What?” He smirked, knowing what to do to get on her nerves. His hand grips Alice’s waist in a slightly protective way as they stand there, looking at a slightly ticked Pepper.

Jim chuckled at Tony's comment. "Exactly." He said with a smirk towards him. He shook his head when Tony smirked at him. Blackmail. Ugh. Would Jim love to not hang that over his head. He rolled his eyes and put his hands up. "Well, it's either you tell them at the press conference or when they notice Alice moving into your house, they'll suspect something there. And you know how bloodthirsty those reporters can get." Jim advised Tony. Hell, he hopes that Tony knew that he was doing. Jim laughed at Tony's comment. "I'm too proud to cry in a corner, much less cry infront of you, Tony." He said with a smirk. Alice grinned. Sure, Jim didn't hear her comment, but hey, it was funny to her.
Alice grinned when he pulled her towards him. She giggled as she raised an eyebrow towards him, "And you mean all natural as in naked." She teased before kissing his lips gently. She raised an eyebrow at him. "Well I hope you have something nice to wear because I feel like the press will be all over us when we get back to L.A." Whether or not Alice was with Tony, she would have been slightly famous for a few weeks after arriving home.
Pepper fought the urge to roll her eyes at Tony. "Glad to see you too, Tony. Have a nice trip?" She asked with a small smirk, knowing fully well that Tony didn't have a great trip to Afghanistan. She nodded before stopping and staring at him. "To get a cheeseburger? Really?" She huffed slightly before looking over at the very petite woman who Tony had an arm around. It was interesting for her to see him so protective over someone. It was the way he was looking around but keeping the young woman in his arms as if he didn't want anything to happen to her. Then things clicked. "Hello Alice, I'm Pepper. Great to meet you in person finally." Pepper said with a smile towards the petite girl. Alice beamed back at her. "The pleasure is all mine. I loved conversing with you through text and now we can face to face." Alice said somewhat excitedly. She has been around men all this time, it was so good to see another person of her gender here. Pepper couldn't help but to smile with her. Alice did have such an infectious smile.
Pepper sighed and shook her head before opening the back car door. "Nothing Tony." She said before gesturing for the two to get inside first. Alice climbed in first, then Tony, and lastly Pepper who closed the door. Jim smiled as he leaned into her open car window and kissed Pepper gently, before pulling away. "I'll call you later." Jim said softly to her, making her blush silghtly and nod. Alice grinned. She knew that they were a good match for each other. She wanted to squeal inside from the cuteness, but she'll hold it in. "Sure." Pepper said softly, before the car started to speed off. "Happy, can we go to Burger King drive thru first? Our boss and his guest want cheeseburgers." Pepper asked the chauffer who nodded and switched lanes and they were on their way to get food. Alice sighed softly as she slouched in her seat, grateful for cars, for cheeseburgers, for television, for America in general. She also got her phone charged while her hair was done, and she sent a text to her parents saying that she'll go to their home for dinner that night. "I'm so happy to be home." Alice whispered to Tony, rested her head on his shoulder.

Tony smirked, Jim knew him inside and out despite all the barriers Tony had put up to keep people out. Somehow, Jim had made it through those barriers and broke them in the process, which, helped Tony out somewhat and also hindered him from rebuildling them all the way. “Oh, I’ll tell them, but, they won’t like how I tell them.” He turned his head to Jim slowly, raising his brow. “Who said Alice was moving in? Jim are you making decisions for me? You beat me to asking her.” He looks down at her, smiling, with an eyebrow raised at her, silently asking her. He let out a laugh, “You’re such a softie Jim, always were. You’ll never change my friend.
He rolled his eyes at her, “No, I meant with that dress on and no make up.” He smirked, his tongue dripping with sarcasm. He leaned in to her kiss before, pulling away at the last moment. He smirked, finally kissing her back. He rested his head against hers, chuckling. “I always have a spare suit in my car,” he pauses, “You never know when you might need to change.” He smiles down at her and rubbed her shoulders lightly as they walked. Oh, he was so happy they were finally home.
Tony knew exactly which buttons of Pepper’s to push and when to push them. He grinned wickedly at her and shrugged his shoulders at her, “It was too hot, couldn’t even go outside.” He smirked back, and stared at her with a serious expression on his face. “We. Are. Hungry. We’ve been in a foreign country living on stale bread for God’s sake so yes, really.” He rolled his eyes and pulled the hat even lower on his head, blocking out the sun and Pepper’s stare. He silently began counting how long it took Pepper to put two and two together. He chuckled softly when Pepper finally spoke, “Well done Pepper, only took you about three- five minutes.” Exaggerating. He mouthed a ‘help us’ as the women began to chat away. They would take his and Jim’s ear off and they knew it. He shrugged his shoulders, nonchalantly, Alice needed another female presence. She had been with men for over two months and most of those men weren’t very nice to her or him for that matter. He rolled his eyes, muttering softly under his breath, “Here we go.”
“With you, Pepper, it is always SOMETHING, whether you tell me straight away or not and I always find out what it is.” He grins at ther before climbing into the car. He smiled at Alice, interweaving their fingers together before looking at Pepper and Jim. He rolls his eyes, “Get a room you two.” He wags his finger at them, smirking. He made a girly squel, “Oh he’ll call you! Girl, he’s a keeper.” Yep, Tony knew he was pushing Pepper’s and Jim’s buttons and he was pushing them quickly; without a care also. He ran a hand through his hair after taking off the cap and placing it on his knee. He leaned back, resting his head in the back of the seat, closing his eyes as the car drove. He licked his lips lightly as he opened his eyes, yes, cheeseburgers sounded great at the moment. He looked over at Alice, “I am too.” He rested his head on top of hers, closing his eyes.

Jim shrugged. "Sure sure." He chuckled. "I can see that look in your eyes. That was right before I asked Pepper to move in." Granted, he is on duty for another month before he is home for good and working at a base in L.A, but, Jim knew that look in Tony's eye oh so well. Alice blinked at him. "What? Really? You want me to...?" She trailed off, her eyes wide in surprise. She blinked. "I would like to, but are you sure?" She wanted him to know that she didn't have to move in with him, Alice still wanted him. Even if he was homeless, she would still want to be with him.
Alice merely winked at him when he was sarcastic. She pouted slightly when he pulled away at the last moment before kissing her. Tease. She wanted to say. She chuckled. "Well I never knew that." She smirked. A suit in the car. Interesting idea.
Pepper rolled her eyes at Tony. He was too much for her most of the time. "Oh of course sir." She chuckled when he gave her a serious expression. "Fine, you'll get your cheeseburgers as expected." Pepper said with a nod before looking down at her blackberry. Alice never understood blackberrys. She rather liked her own flip phone, with full keyboard. That's all she needed. Pepper rolled her eyes at Tony. "Well, I did learn from the best." She snidely responded back, meaning Tony in jest. Alice smirked. Alice liked this woman. She too can jarr with Tony as well as her.
"So, how was it like there?" Pepper asked Alice softly, looking over at her. Alice fidgeted. "I thought it would have been a lot worse, but I had good company with Tony and another man." She said softly with a small smile, in rememberence of Yinsen. Pepper nodded gently. "So, what do you do here in L.A?" Pepper asked with a smile. Alice beamed at that. "Well I'm in my last year of MSW Social Work and I'll soon be opening a day-care center, possibly for celebrities and normal people alike in a few months from now." Alice said with a nod.
Pepper smiled as she pulled away from the kiss with Jim. "I'll see you soon." Jim promised. Pepper smiled. "I know." Alice "awwed" softly underneath her breath as she squeezed his hand gently. Jim looked over at Tony and smirked. "Tony, get a life." He said with a chuckle before patting on the roof of the car before walking away. Alice smiled when he rested his head ontop of hers. And about fifteen minutes later, both ate their cheeseburgers happily, and they were stopped at the press conference place. Obadiah Stane opened the car door to blink confusedly at Alice who got out somewhat gracefully, with Tony Stark and Pepper following after. "Tony my boy you're back!" Obadiah said with a grin. There were flashes of photographers around them. Eek! Alice wanted to hide, but feeling an arm wrap around her comfortably, she relaxed visibly.

Tony shook his head at Jim, “No idea, what you’re talking about.” He smirked, he knew that Jim knew he was lying. He smiled and looked out the other car window as Jim grinned like the Cheshire cat. Damn, he knew he shouldn’t have become so close to Jim. Jim knew him all too well. He looked down at Alice, disbelief, shock and, surprise written over her face. He smiled, nodding, “Only if you want to, I won’t pressure you.” He nodded, looking down at her, “I’m positive, I’ll let you decide.”
He smirked at her wink and chuckled as an adorable pout crossed her lips. She was too cute when she looked like that and he couldn’t deny that pout. He nodded, “It’s quite handy.” The sides of his lips twitched as a smile formed slowly across his lips and said nothing to Pepper’s sarcasm. “I expect to be called sir from Pepper for this time hence.” He nods, speaking in a regal, stuffed tone. He rolled eyes as as he looked at Pepper and then the blackberry. He bit the inside of his cheek, turning toward the window. He had caused Pepper enough embarassment for the day.
Tony noted the look on Alice’s face and chuckled softly, he could tell Alice liked Pepper. He did too but, the woman could be a pain in the ass to him and he knew he was a pain for her too. His brows furrowed as he watched the sceanary change constantly.
Tony continued to look out the window as Alice and Pepper chattered about Afgan. His fingers slowly grasped hers as he continued to look out the window. His thumb grazed hers slowly and softly. He bent his head down slightly as memories of Yinsen resurfaced inside his psyche. His mouth twitched slightly in a smile as Pepper asked Alice about what she did and other girl stuff. His mind whirled at what he was going to say at the press conference. Was he going to introduce Alice? No, the press would eat her alive. He sighed softly as he tried to figure out how he was going to do it.
Tony stuck his tongue out at Jim, “I do, remember? I. Am. Tony. Stark.” He grinned and watched the couple exchanged furtive glances that he totally caught. He smirked lightly, squeezing her hand back and watched Jim step back from the car. He gave the man a nod and turned toward the window. He grabbed his cell and texted his plan to Pepper as he stared out the window with his head resting against Alice. Hopefully, Pepper would agree and take Alice to the back of the conference place, where the press wouldn’t pay attention to her. He hoped this wouldn’t hurt her feelings, he was just trying to shield—protect—her from the nasty media. He stepped out after Alice, once the car stopped, he pulled his sunglasses on and smiled lightly at Obadiah, man he wasn’t going to like what Tony had in mind. “Good to see you too, Obadiah.” He wrapped his arm around Alice as they walked into the building, he turned; nodding to Pepper that it was time. He let his hand slide from Alice’s waist as he walked toward the podieum(sp?).

Jim did know him too well. He knew how Tony acted, which was why he and Alice both were pretty shocked at Tony's statement of him wanting her to move in. She blinked. "Give me a bit, let me think about it?" She asked quietly. "But it's not a definite no. It's a maybe." She added quickly. She just wasn't sure at the moment.
"It definitely is quite handy." Alice should put a few outfits in her car. But then again, she really would rather have her things in her house with her. Alice smirked when she saw Pepper roll her eyes. "No thanks, I'll just stick with your name." Pepper retorted back, as she looked at her blackberry and punched in a few words.
As Pepper and Alice talked, Alice felt a bit intimidated by the woman that knew Tony so well, and felt as though she had never spoken to one of Tony's "girls" before. She did feel a bit anxious, because of the fact that she was telling Pepper about Afghanist and withholding information about how they actually got out of there. She smiled when she felt his thumb grazing her hand. She knew he was listening to the conversation and Alice didn't feel the need to include him in. If Tony wanted to speak, he'll speak.
Soon during the car ride and while Alice and Tony were happily feasting on their cheeseburgers, Pepper got the text from Tony. She was surprised that Tony wanted to tell the press that he has a girlfriend, but wanted her to stay out of the spotlight for as long as she can. Pepper knew that Alice would agree and not want the spotlight on her unless it is necessary for her to be "famous". Pepper was still surprised that Tony was having a girlfriend. Especially the one that was captive with him, and Tony Stark having a girlfriend was a new subject, even for him. Pepper wondered if he could be a good boyfriend. But looking over at the two who were stealing glances at each other while eating their cheeseburgers with one hand each, and their other hands holding each other, Pepper realized that Tony really did have it in for this girl.
Obadiah grinned as he clapped an hand on Tony's back, before looking over at Alice briefly. "How was your trip?" Obadiah asked, before ignoring Alice. Pepper smiled, and took Alice's hand. "This way, Alice. We'll be bacstage as he talks." Alice nodded. She had no idea that he was going to tell practically the whole world that he had a girlfriend or the fact that he was shutting down his company until further notice. Alice sighed as she sat down in a seat across from Pepper as they watched the tv monitor screen from backstage. Obadiah smiled. "And here he is, man of the hour, Tony Stark!" Obadiah introduced, as Tony Stark made his way to the podium and then sat down, wanting the rest of the media to sit down on the floor with him. Obadiah looked over at the security guard confused and shrugged before sitting down as well, intent to hear Tony Stark's speech.

Ah, with this man you needed to expect the unexpected. Sure, Jim knew him well, which was all the reason to be wary of Mr. Tony Stark. His brows knotted together in slight confusion and annoyance, with himself. He shouldn’t have sprung that on her like that.Damnation! He nodded his head down at her, “Take all the time you need.” He turned away, mentally cursing himself.
He nodded to her as she spoke, “Indeed, it is.” He smirked lightly, he let his head rest against the back of the seat. He let out a diminutive, incensed, sigh as he closed his eyes. A smirk flitted across his lips as Pepper spoke, he opened one eye. “You sure? That could catch on if you used it enough,” he paused, “it could make you famous.” He closed his eyes again, resting.
Yes, if Tony wanted to speak about the ordeal in Afghanistan, he speak up. He suppressed a chuckle as he continued to keep his eyes closed. Boy, it felt good to be in a moving, air conditioned vehicle. What he couldn’t wait for was his bed and all of those nice, soft, pillows. He could feel himself beginning to drool. He opened his eyes and looked over at her. He smiled, his thumb grazing hers without him telling it to do so. He closed his eyes yet again as he listened to them talking.
Why he was becoming protective over night was something he couldn’t fathom himself. He never felt protective over any of the other girls he had been with. Of course, they were one-night stands and Alice....Alice was more than a one night stand that was for sure. Why he wasn’t telling Alice his plan, he couldn’t understand either. His emotions were all fried and he needed a matianence check. His first girlfriend....was she his first? He honestly couldn’t remember if he had one during highschool. He knew for sure, he didn’t have one in college. He was far too busy warming many beds in those years. He let out a small chuckle, remember the good old days at college. He ran a hand through his hair as he stole a furtive glance at Alice. She was too cute, chomping vicously into the poor hamburger.
Oh, Obadiah was in for it. Tony knew that this was going to give the poor man a heart attack and was he sorry? Not particularly, he ignored Alice and that pissed of Tony. He stared at Obadiah through the sunglasses, shrugging nonchalantly, “It was hot, dry, sandy, and hot, Ob.” He smirked at him and began walking toward the enterance with his hands in his pockets. He grinned at the sight of Obadiah and the press being confused as he made himself comfortable on the floor. “Well, the reason I called this meeting is,” he paused, “well, I’m going to be rather blunt. I’m shutting down my company for certain reasons and I am taken by someone.” He nodded , rubbing his chin thoughtfully. “Yep, that’s about it. You can go now.” He grinned and watched as all hell broke loose, pun intended

Alice blinked at him when he turned away. She smiled as she leaned up to kiss his cheek. "You know that is a very big step. I just need some help filling the shoes for that big step." She said with a smile towards him. Hoping that he got the message that she does want to live with him. Really. She did. And that was her answer.
Pepper rolled her eyes. "No thank you, Tony." Pepper said dryly, before looking down at her blackberry. After Alice was done eating her hamburger, she took out her phone and typed in a few words into an open and text and handed it to Tony. It read, "my answer to live with you, is a yes." Alice blushed as she looked shyly away from him when she waited for his answer.
Alice did like the fact that he was liking her far more than the one-night-stands that he had in the past. She had a few boyfriends in the past. But most of them ended when they realized that she wasn't going to give in to their sexual demands and each one dumped her because of it. However, Alice wasn't distraught over that fact. It made her stronger. She didn't want to lose it to just a boyfriend. She wanted it lost to someone that she loved. Frankly, Alice didn't love her boyfriends. Sure, she liked them. But not enough to have sex with them.
Obadiah blinked when he saw a small change in Tony. He looked over at the small woman that was walking away with Pepper. That girl has to be taken down. He thought to himself with a chuckle. "Well Im betting so. So, who's the little lady, hm?" Obadiah asked with a smirk. He stared at Tony as Tony told everyone to sit down on the floor. 'What was he doing?' Obadiah was fretting on the inside. This didn't sound good. And he inwardly had a "heart attack" when he said that he was shutting down the company until further notice and the fact that he is taken. Tony Stark was never taken. A blonde woman asked a rather loud question "Why are you hiding this girl from us, Mister Stark? Who is she?" The blonde, was one of Tony's one-night-stands before Tony went to Afghanistan.
Alice's and Pepper's eyes widened when Tony said that. "Woah." Alice muttered to herself, as Pepper fidgeted with her fingers. Pepper wondered briefly if that meant that she was going to be fired. Pepper hoped not. She looked over at Alice, who was staring at the television. Alice did of course got to tell her parents about Tony Stark and their budding relationship when she was in D.C., so that was no big surprise there. And they were the only two people that knew about her and Tony, minus Pepper, and Jim, and that Obadiah of course.
